Design of a digital product for Europe’s leading VoD association Eurovod, the European association of VoD (Video on Demand) platforms, which includes Filmin, OutTV, FilmDoo and Univers Ciné among others, asked us to design and develop a new B2B digital product for a professional and industry audience. Eurovod Pro aims to be a product designed to promote the exchange of information, documents and knowledge. A place to meet, cooperate, compare, share resources, find partners, get information and training within the Video on Demand industry by accessing the valuable contacts of each company present in the network. For the primary design of the product, two workshops were held to analyse the sector, build the product values, its needs and devise the basic functionalities and needs of the project. In these workshops, a change of name was considered, but the Eurovod board wanted to maintain the link with the name of the association and only add Pro. After the workshops, functional wireframes were worked on and iterated, with which the contents and product functionalities were defined, some of which were not planned in the workshops and which came out of Toormix’s internal work with the development team, up to the navigability and interactions. Once this phase had been approved and prior to the visual design of the site, the graphic and visual identity of the project was developed based on the premise that, although the identity of the logo should not be created, it was necessary to create a brand identity through the design of a unique and recognisable graphic environment. To this end, it was proposed to extend the Eurovod colour palette, adding new and complementary colours, as well as incorporating mid-20th century film poster style icons and illustrations into the language, helping in the codification and identification of the contents. Once the graphic universe was built, we moved on to the visual design of the front (the public part) of the website, in which we developed a design system that had to be applied from the public landing page to the registered person’s dashboard and to all the pages, modules and functionalities within the digital product : personal profile page, company profiles, contact list, news page, etc. A digital project in which Toormix, together with the development team, adopted the role of a digital product creation agency, helping the client from the ideation of the product itself to the development and iteration of new functionalities after its beta launch.
