Created in 2000 in Barcelona by Ferran Mitjans and Oriol Armengou, Toormix is a mix of a brand consultancy, a design studio and a digital creative agency.
We use strategic thinking and design to create innovative brand experiences across physical, digital or spatial media with a clear focus on user needs, as well as understanding business challenges and objectives.
We work for national and international clients, large and small, with whom we build a mutual relationship of trust and professional respect. Our more than 20 years of experience in all types of projects and disciplines, together with our team and network of specialists and external collaborators, allow us to face any challenge.
This is our team

Oriol Armengou
Founding partner of Toormix, he has a degree in Advertisement and later in Graphic Design at Bau. He has more than 20 years of professional experience in the sector and is also a visiting professor and lecturer.
He is a photography fanatic with a special interest in walls, windows and empty spaces, has been to almost every edition of Sónar, has an interesting collection of robots from the 80s and a lot of plants that are endangering the stability of his terrace.

Ferran Mitjans
Founding partner of Toormix, he has a degree in Graphic Arts and later in Graphic Design at Bau. He has more than 20 years of professional experience in the sector and is also a visiting professor and lecturer.
He loves getting lost in concerts, DJ sets, festivals and theatres, to travel to where jetlag hits the hardest and to fill his mobile phone with photos of walls, textures, food and bottles of wine. If you want a tip on where to eat or drink anywhere ask to him, although you might find him riding his singlespeed bike, rowing along the coast of Barcelona or climbing a wall.

Pablo Cadez
A graphic designer educated at CIC ELISAVA, he did his internship at Toormix and then joined the team (without having made us a single coffee or a simple photocopy). His profile is somewhere between editorial design and, as a good centennial, social media management, web design (which he learnt in a fleeting way) and digital illustration.
He likes architecture, fashion, classical art (Doric, Ionic, Corinthian, Corinthian) and filling bookshelves with books and magazines. He is such a very minimalist that in his house there is an echo and if one day you don’t see him dressed in black, maybe Halley’s Comet is already back.

Álvaro Rodríguez
Graphic designer and UI/UX developer, he studied multiplatform application development at Stucom and Graphic Design along with a postgraduate degree in UI/UX at IDEP Barcelona. He considers himself a digital designer with a strong self-taught ambition in various disciplines, be it image retouching, motion, 3D modelling or any other technology he can discover. He likes sports, cinema and food with lots of cheese. He incarnates the Geek branch of the team (even with no gaming chair). If you have to ask him for changes, may the Force be with you.

Luciano Fasan
Graphic designer trained at the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste (Resistencia). His profile is clearly focused on branding and typography, converging diverse worlds: calligraphy, lettering and illustration. He has worked in several studios and agencies in Buenos Aires and Barcelona until he arrived at Toormix, where he combines manual and digital techniques. In his free time he likes to paint and can get stuck for hours in front of a piece of paper. He is a devotee of letters, scribbles and a mate cup as a good Argentinian (although perhaps not so much as he doesn’t accomplish the words per minute ratio).

Marta García
A graphic and digital designer with a postgraduate degree in UX/UI design for web and App trained at Idep Barcelona with a clearly digital profile, she previously graduated in Gràfica Publicitària and is capable of tackling design challenges that mix disciplines.
She enjoys digital illustration and, when she’s not at Toormix, you can easily find her travelling around the world to discover new places whether in the sea or in the mountains, or hitting the crossfit. She is addicted to boards, whether they are exercise boards or cheese boards accompanied by a good wine.

Imma Padilla
Creative director, storyteller and copywriter, she has been working in advertising for more than 25 years. Her experience in several multinational agencies, in as many small agencies and as a team member in the launching of products together with the client, allows her to be halfway between marketing and content design. She is particularly interested in communication that improves society’s perception of itself: sustainable projects, social responsibility actions or products that pursue social welfare. In the past, she loved to travel. Now, if she is not in Barcelona, she is in Greece.
Self initiated projects
We are a restless and non-conformist team and we are passionate about getting involved in projects that are aligned with our methodology, interests or that help to create culture around design. Here are the projects we have been working on:

House of Chappaz
House of Chappaz is a contemporary art gallery born in 2021 from the fusion of two galleries, Espai Tactel (2011) and Espai Tactel Toormix (2018), an expositive project created with the aim of being leaders in the contemporary avant-garde. With two venues, one in Barcelona and the other in Valencia, and more than 15 artists represented, it is a project that aims to offer exhibitions which incorporate new talent, consistent discourses, experimentation and collaborations within the sector, without ever losing sight of the interest for risk and innovation.

Design is Future
Design is Future is a festival that took place within the Barcelona Design Week programme for two editions. A cycle of conferences focused on explaining design as a tool for innovation and in which we developed from the concept to the commissioning of contents, including communication. Design is Future was a meeting place for companies, institutions and professionals to share success stories, experiences, new trends, processes and methodologies that are shaping the future of design. You can see the summary of the last edition in this documentary.
At Toormix we believe that design transcends beyond the mere aesthetic value. We understand it as a transversal tool that helps – from the beginning – boosting businesses, brands and projects to a new level. We believe in the power of design and this is our vision:
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Design as culture
We strongly advocate that design should be incorporated at the beginning of any business project. Our methodology aims to bring valuable knowledge and understanding to businesses, products and users, mixing collaborative work, strategic thinking and creativity, transcending the simple aesthetic value. Design is essential in any innovative business strategy to bring values of proximity, understanding and empathy and connect effectively with the user.
Research and methodology
We are committed to research and knowledge through various design methodologies. We have a versatile and lively space where we stimulate the development of new processes, where we encourage creative, formal and thinking research. A collaborative work space with our clients and team of professionals. We use research as a tool of deep knowledge towards products, businesses and users; a process through which to discover needs, strengths, opportunities and weaknesses that often the inertia and day to day business does not allow us to identify and that are essential in the initial phase of immersion of any project. An indispensable phase for the correct definition of the strategic brief.
Brand driven vision
We are specialists in building brands and we understand them as the essential element to articulate a coherent, understandable and identifiable discourse. We help companies establish a relationship with their users through design to improve their experience, regardless of the channel we use to deliver our message. In both branding and communication projects, the brand is the essence of the message and everything we do must be useful to build its value. Brand Stories is the system of creating a coherent story between brands and users that help us to connect in a human, realistic and effective way through the various disciplines of design.
Small, but effective
Toormix is a small independent agency that, after studying your needs, will only propose ideal solutions for you and your project, which we believe is key to your success. And at the same time we are as big as the project requires because we offer a comprehensive tailor-made service always with maximum agility and efficiency. We get to the point!
We develop each project through a single contact, in a single place, with our own team and with the collaboration of specialized external professionals. We create a collaborative network always thinking in the benefit of your project.
Results-oriented
We are aware of where we are and what the moment is, of how the rules of the game have changed the way brands relate to their users. We defend the need to establish global and holistic strategies in business, products and services, incorporating different media: written, formal, verbal, audiovisual and performance. To avoid getting lost in a sea of brands, it is essential to think about the last mile: conversion. That is why our actions are completed with a digital marketing strategy, both in social networks and search engines.
Honesty and trust
We work for companies, services and institutions to help them grow and build their personality and achieve business success. We like to tell things by their name, bringing all the knowledge and experience that give us more than 20 years in the sector. We only understand our work from honesty, responsibility and transparency and we prefer to be uncomfortable than complacent, even proposing to reorient a project if professionally we think it is necessary.

Tailor-made process
With a clear interest in the immersion and research phase, the Toormix work process deepens the knowledge of the user as well as the collaborative work with the client, defining in each case, a customized methodology for each project.
The strategic phase is fundamental to outline the objectives and redefine the brief, placing great emphasis on the needs of the brand. In the creation and development phases, we integrate iteration and prototyping processes to generate the best solution in each case. We understand the production as an essential phase of the projects putting interest in the details, the finishes and in the analysis of the results, phase that allows us to detect new opportunities for improvement, growth and optimization of the projects.
