Borneta Hotel
Identity and graphic language for a new hotel in Barcelona’s Born district
Miiro Hotels, a small family-run group of hotels present in several European cities, commissioned us with creating the identity, graphic language, and applications for “Borneta,” a new hotel located in the heart of Barcelona’s Born district. Inspired by the neighborhood’s tradition and the nearby historic market, the project combines modernity and memory to offer an authentic experience deeply rooted in local history.
The graphic design draws from textures and shapes inspired by the wooden crates used to transport fruits and vegetables, as well as other characteristic elements of the market and its architecture. This unique visual language is applied across various elements such as signage, communication materials, “Do Not Disturb” signs, items like pencils and notebooks, and welcome cards.
The result is a modern and appealing visual language that connects directly with the neighborhood’s tradition and the history of the market, now transformed into a museum and space of historical memory. Moreover, it reflects the values of Miiro Hotels, a brand committed to delivering a warm, human-centered service tailored to its users, with attention to every detail to enhance the guest experience. Borneta thus embodies the perfect union of authenticity, design, and service excellence, evoking the vibrant past that still resonates in the Born’s streets.
