Grans Hotels de Catalunya
A new identity for this group of 40 family-run hotels in Catalonia
Costa Brava Blau Verd Hotels, a group of more than 40 family-run hotels in Catalonia, commissioned the creation of a new brand that would unify their establishments under a coherent and competitive identity. Until now, they operated with three separate brands based on the location and size of the hotels: Costa Brava Hotels, Blau Verd Hotels, and Petits Grans Hotels de Catalunya. The goal was to simplify this architecture into two strong brands that could compete with top-tier hotel platforms.
The decision was made to create the brand Grans Hotels de Catalunya, which includes all establishments regardless of location, except for the smaller hotels that remain under the Petits Grans Hotels de Catalunya brand. The use of the same naming structure allows for clear differentiation and more understandable communication that strengthens both brands.
A new robust and elegant visual identity is developed for Grans Hotels de Catalunya, conveying solidity and territorial reach using a symbol that plays with its initials. Simultaneously, the identity of Petits Grans Hotels de Catalunya is updated to maintain graphic coherence within the group while respecting the uniqueness of the smaller hotels. The project includes the design of a unified graphic code, with a color palette inspired by the landscape and applicable to both digital and physical media.
With this new brand architecture and visual identity, the two brands position themselves as a cohesive group capable of competing nationally and internationally, reinforcing their presence and facilitating future growth while also enhancing Catalonia’s tourism brand as a reference for quality, landscape, and service.
